The
Storyteller
Pact

Stories are the glue of humanity. They're how we understand the world and connect with everything. Stories can be used to enlighten or to enslave. We live in a time when the tools built to share stories have been quietly turned against us, and our human stories have been hijacked. Algorithms reward fear over curiosity, noise over stillness, surface over perspective. The result is a media landscape that moves faster and means less. It's time for the documentary storytellers of the world to push back. Join us by committing to this pact:

I. Show your soul, not your ego. Bring your perspective, your doubt, your struggles and learnings. Show what it truly means to be human. Resist reducing yourself to a cliché for the sake of attention.

II. Slow down, resist the scroll. Stay with the story. Depth takes time. Let it. Resist the pull toward the fast and shallow. Some of the most important things in the world move slowly. So can you.

III. Be a fearless explorer, avoid comfort. Challenge the stereotypes and fears that drive us apart. Seek to understand and see the human being. Represent people fairly. Discover visions, solutions, and hope.

IV. Challenge the stories, refuse obedience. Question the first story you find. Every story has roots. The truth is always one layer deeper. Expose the false narratives, and shape the new ones.

V. Grow together, not alone. Share what you know. Be generous with your craft. Remember to credit others and respect authorship. Offer honest feedback and receive it with openness. The storytellers around you are your community, not your competition.

We commit to the pact. Not as a rule, but as a promise to the community we are now part of.
